Since I started personal training early this year, I have become more mindful of the food I feed my body with, in order to achieve my fitness goals! Of course there are days where I succumb to unhealthy food, but as and when I can, I opt for healthier options. One of the methods is by cooking at home because this way, I know exactly what ingredients go into my dishes.
Few days ago, I tried out my mum’s signature Chiu Zhao Steamed Fish recipe and added 1 extra ingredient which was the
Yukiguni Maitake mushrooms to make my recipe more flavourful.
These mushrooms are imported from Japan and are packed with nutrients and healing properties. The fact that these mushrooms are low in cholesterol, sodium, calories and even fat free, makes my choice to eat healthier much easier!
There are plenty of ways in which these mushrooms can be cooked and enjoyed. Here, I steamed them together with fish and I particularly like how crunchy they turned out!
